SPACES
Context
To accompany the release of her album, Louise Charbonnel entrusted us with producing promotional clips. Three flagship tracks were selected (Spaces, Come, Bee), each conceived in three mini-clips, making nine videos designed as a coherent visual whole.
Our approach
We crafted a strange and cinematic universe that resonates with Louise's music. The goal: to immerse each track in a distinctive, instantly recognizable atmosphere. Each clip needed to captivate through imagery as powerfully as through sound, reinforcing a distinctive artistic identity.
Memory of a lost world
For Spaces, we embraced an almost archival aesthetic. Louise embodies a silent character, wandering through a desolate, muted landscape with ropes trailing from her fingernails, as if suspended in an endless drift. This visual approach led us to employ multiple special effects techniques: facial erasure (initially through makeup, then amplified in VFX), landscape extension using on-location photographs, creation of false shadows to simulate an eclipse, and horizon replacement to transform a beach into a desert.
